2016 Olympics Announcement Time


The People in Chicago will start counting down the hours, because the International Olympics Committee (IOC) will announce the host city for the 2016 Summer Olympics today in Copenhagen at 10 a.m. Pacific time.

The final candidates are Chicago, Madrid, Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo.

IOC members vote by secret ballot until one city receives a majority. The city receiving the fewest votes is eliminated after each round. Each city will makes 45-minute presentations to the IOC members today, with another 15 minutes for questions and answers. President Obama is in Copenhagen to help stump for votes for Chicago.
